Consultant. Doula. Mama.
Twenty+ years ago, I ran into a college acquaintance at a friends' wedding. She told me she was a Doula. It was the first I'd ever heard of it. Shortly thereafter, I returned to the New York publishing and theater world, later moved to British Columbia to pursue degrees and a career in arts education, birthed my two favorite humans, and then moved to the Bay Area, California, where I was welcomed into the Jewish professional community. Throughout my movement in these roles, I never stopped thinking about what life would be like as a Doula. It took some time, but here I am, pursuing a decades-long dream.
And when I'm not reminiscing about my own transformational career path, or working with growing families across the Bay Area, I'm still singing my children to sleep (even the one who's now taller than me).
